⚠ Please Read Before Using MindScroll Resources

MindScroll Health is a psychoeducational organization. Nothing provided through our assessments, tracker, documents, workshops, or communications constitutes medical advice, clinical diagnosis, mental health treatment, or a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis or experiencing significant distress, please seek immediate professional support.

1. Nature of MindScroll Health

MindScroll Health is a research-oriented psychoeducational organization. Our purpose is to translate peer-reviewed research on social media and adolescent mental health into accessible tools, assessments, and educational materials that help individuals better understand their own patterns of use.

MindScroll Health is not a licensed mental health provider, clinical practice, therapy service, crisis intervention service, or medical organization. No individual affiliated with MindScroll Health acts in a clinical capacity through the provision of our materials. Our resources are educational in nature and are intended to support awareness, reflection, and informed decision-making — not to diagnose, treat, or manage any mental health condition.

2. Not Medical or Clinical Advice

Nothing provided by MindScroll Health — including but not limited to our assessments, personalized feedback reports, usage tracker, explainer documents, workshop content, website content, or email communications — constitutes:

The assessments and feedback reports MindScroll provides are psychoeducational tools grounded in peer-reviewed research. They are designed to surface patterns and provide general information relevant to those patterns — not to evaluate any individual's specific clinical status. Our feedback is generated based on population-level research findings and cannot account for the full complexity of any individual's mental health circumstances.

Even when MindScroll content draws directly from peer-reviewed research, that research describes associations found across populations — not predictions about any specific individual. Association is not diagnosis. Population-level findings do not determine individual outcomes.

3. Limitation of Liability

MindScroll Health, its founders, contributors, advisors, and affiliated individuals expressly disclaim all liability for any outcomes — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from use of or reliance on any MindScroll resource, assessment, feedback, document, or communication.

Specifically, MindScroll Health is not responsible for:

MindScroll Health makes reasonable efforts to ensure that our materials reflect the current state of peer-reviewed research. However, scientific understanding evolves. We do not warrant that any content is complete, up to date, or applicable to any particular situation. Users are encouraged to consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on any information provided by MindScroll Health.

4. For Minors and Their Caregivers

Some MindScroll resources are designed with adolescents as the intended audience. Where minors engage with MindScroll assessments or tools, we strongly encourage caregiver awareness and involvement. MindScroll resources are not a replacement for parental guidance, school counseling, or professional mental health support.

Caregivers should be aware that psychoeducational feedback is general in nature and does not constitute an assessment of their child's individual mental health status. If a caregiver or adolescent has concerns about mental health, the appropriate step is consultation with a licensed mental health professional — not reliance on MindScroll materials.

5. Data and Privacy

MindScroll Health collects email addresses solely for the purpose of delivering requested assessment feedback. Email addresses are not stored beyond the delivery of feedback, are not shared with third parties, and are not used for any commercial purpose. Usage data submitted through our tracker is used only to generate individual-facing insights within the tool and is not shared externally.

No assessment responses, tracker data, or personal information is shared with schools, healthcare providers, insurers, law enforcement, or any external organization without explicit consent. MindScroll Health does not sell user data.

6. If You Are in Crisis

MindScroll is not a crisis resource. If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, is in immediate danger, or is experiencing a mental health emergency, please do not rely on MindScroll materials. Contact one of the following immediately:

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 (United States)
Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
Emergency services: Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
School counselor or trusted adult in your immediate environment

MindScroll Health is committed to the wellbeing of the adolescents and communities we aim to serve. That commitment is precisely why we are explicit about the limits of what we provide. Psychoeducation and research translation are valuable — and they are not a substitute for clinical care when clinical care is what is needed.

7. External Research and Sources

MindScroll materials reference and summarize peer-reviewed research. These references are provided for educational context. MindScroll Health does not claim authorship of cited research and does not represent that cited researchers endorse MindScroll Health or its materials. Summary and interpretation of research findings is the responsibility of MindScroll Health alone and may not reflect the full conclusions or nuance of original sources. Users are encouraged to consult original research where questions arise.

8. Changes to This Document

MindScroll Health reserves the right to update this disclaimer at any time. Updates will be reflected by a revised effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of MindScroll resources following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
